A Wedding Planner's Wedding Plans: Post #2

Since my last update I’ve followed through with booking my photographer + videographer. I’m excited to announce that Sarah Bray will be photographing our big day + Imprint Cinema will be capturing all of our special moments on video. The search is still on for the perfect DJ. Picking one has turned out to be one of my biggest challenges. Who knew an  Orlando wedding planner would have this problem?!
In just a few days Corey + I will be taking our engagement photos! Sarah Bray was great with helping us chose a location. We told her we wanted a southern vintage feel in our photos (to go with our wedding theme) + she suggested going out to Oakland. The town is full of old southern style houses that would be great backdrops for our pictures. I’m so excited to see how they turn out!
In other news, Corey + I had the pleasure of attending a tasting event at Cypress Grove Estate House. We took his mom as our guest + spent the night trying all the wonderful food options we have for our wedding, courtesy of Big City Catering (the on-site caterer for the Cypress Grove Estate House). They did a great job with the event. We were greeted at the door with glasses of champagne + when we left we were gifted with a mini champagne bottle as our favor. At Last works with Big City Catering often so I get the pleasure of eating their food a lot, but it was fun to go to an event + be treated like a bride. It’s things like this that remind me I’m actually getting married!
Corey + I also booked our officiant: my dad! Not every girl gets the opportunity to have her dad give her away + marry her. It means so much to me to have my dad be the one to officiate our marriage, it just makes it that much more special.
Videographer, photographer, officiant, + caterer: CHECK!
Until next time…

Married : Almarie + Sean

What a blast it was to work with Almarie + Sean to plan their Orlando wedding day! This couple is so truly in love + they have so much fun together you can't help it but to smile in their presence. Though the weather was not in our favor for the first half of the day, nothing could stop this wedding from being a huge success + perfect day for this happily married couple.

Upon meeting with Almarie, I knew that they wanted to incorporate their cultural backgrounds into the entire wedding day, especially the cuisine. Almarie is Puerto Rican + Sean is Jamaican so mixing the two flavors together was a huge hit! Plus, Sean is a dance instructor {that's how the two met!} so of course they put on their very own surprise salsa routine for all of their guests. Check out these breathtaking photos from Mandy Blair Photography.

The ingredients that made it all happen:

Wedding Planner: At Last Wedding + Event Design
Ceremony Venue: Maitland Art Center
Reception Venue: Holy Trinity Reception Center
Photography: Mandy Blair Photography

Floral: Jonathans Flowers
Linen: Connie Duglin
Rentals: Orlando Wedding + Party Rentals

Meet : Jennifer + Michael

November 11, 2011 (11/11/11) is going to be one of the biggest wedding days of the year + it's going to be a fantastic one for Central Florida wedding coordinator, At Last Weddings, because Jennifer + Michael are getting married. Not only are they a sensational couple but Jennifer is my very own sister! Here is a fun interview with Jennifer on her experience planning her very own wedding for the past year + a half.

Feel free to browse on over to their e-session from a while ago, too!

Where did you two meet?
We met our freshman year at UCF. My sister Jolene was Michael's brothers resident assistant and when she would put on events for her residents we would go along for some fun. The first time we hung out that stood out to the both of us was the team building at the Challenge Course. We were the only freshman so we had to stick together! Since that day, we hung out a lot and became good friends and after about a year we realized how compatible we were together. The rest is history :)
What are your wedding colors?
Our colors are bright blue, black and silver
Why did you choose 11/11/11 to marry? Is there any special significance?
I have always wanted to get married on 11/11/11. I have a printout of a calendar that my dad got in 2000 with the date showing 11/11/11 being on a Friday. I had the date... I just needed the groom! It was a long shot but once Mike and I looked at our future plans, we realized it was perfect timing!
Which vendor has been the most important to you + why?
Without a DOUBT I would say At Last! I am the luckiest person alive to have the owner as my SISTER! The entire staff has been so amazing. I Have had the most stress-free planning experience of all time.
What has been the biggest hurdle in your wedding planning?
I would have to say the guest list. We booked Eagle Creek Golf Club in Lake Nona and because we are moving around the dance floor, we can only fit the 120 people. It has been hard to cut people out of the most special day of our lives.
What has been the best decision you have made throughout your planning process?
Sticking with what Mike and I want and envisioned for our wedding. There have been a lot of suggestions that we have considered, but if it didn't fit with what we always wanted for our wedding- then sorry! :)
Has your groom been involved in the planning? What has been his favorite part?
It is a good feeling knowing that Mike WANTS to be involved. There are some things I decide on by myself, but I have to say 90% of the wedding we both had a say in. He enjoyed the food tasting.
Will you be honeymooning?
We are heading to Hawaii the day after the wedding and jumping on a cruise! After the week cruise, we are staying at a 4.5 star resort on the beach in Honolulu! Best honeymoon ever!
